Meet Chad

Hello there! My name is Chad Allen, and I am a pastor with over 30 years of ministry experience, and I love helping people live out God’s divine design to flourish. Shepherding a congregation regularly places me in the front lines of where people feel stuck in their faith, in their life, in their relationships, and their leadership. I recognized that part of what I do in pastoring is joyfully helping others experience breakthroughs in those critical areas of their lives. That realization led me to pursue formal training and experience in the field of personal coaching so that I can more intentionally and skillfully help and invest in others beyond my immediate context through faith-based personal coaching.

After living most of my life in the Central Valley of California and pastoring at River Oak Grace Community Church, followed by 12 years of living in the Greater Cleveland area and pastoring at Cuyahoga Valley Church, I now currently live in Scottsdale, Arizona, and pastor at North Bible Church. The Lord has blessed me tremendously with with my bride, Rica, and my three beautiful children, Cruz, Isabelle, and Faith.

What can I expect?

Coaching is helpful for healthy and hungry people who want to take next steps in areas of their lives that are important to them, who need a caring, intuitive, objective, and skilled person they can trust to help them build a bridge from where they are, to where they would like to go.

Coaching is a relational and intentional partnership where the coach and the client explore goals, strengths, interests, and areas where the client would like to grow, get clarity, experience breakthroughs, get unstuck, or maximize their opportunities and potential.

Coaching is a collaborate process that can help you focus, identify, strategize, and take next steps in areas of your life that you want to see traction and progress, as well as help you recognize beliefs, habits, perspectives, assumptions, patterns, and barriers that are contributing to where you feel stuck and desire to experience breakthrough.

When you think of personal coaching, think of words like discovery, momentum, insight, breakthrough, strategy, encouragement, motivation, support, clarity, growth, and accountability. Coaching does not diagnose or prescribe, but helps people explore and execute.

The goal of coaching is not to light a fire under you, but to light a fire inside of you.

What is 1778?

The numbers 1778 are connected to a Bible verse, Jeremiah 17:7-8 - “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” (ESV)

In Jeremiah 17:7-8, God provides an image of a flourishing tree as a picture of the person who places their trust in Him. This is not an isolated image or concept in the Bible. God has given us a divine design to flourish, to thrive, to live an abundant life.

The reason so many people are not flourishing as God designed, is because they are “sending out their roots” to wrong or inadequate sources. We will not flourish if we are trying to get our identity, worth, or breakthroughs through other people, or human solutions. God is our source of identity, strength, value and purpose. When we stretch out our roots to Him, as the source of living water, we will flourish, even when (not, if) the heat comes. Our ability to flourish is determined by how rooted we are in Him, His Word, and His ways. When we root our trust in God, we become like a healthy, watered, fruitful, and lush tree that flourishes in well-watered and fertile soil.

Your life, your skills, your passions, your relationships, and your leadership are all given to you by God to glorify Him, to reflect Him, and to produce fruit for Him. If that is not what you are experiencing, then what has you stalled, stuck, blocked, demotivated, withering? Where are you needing the Lord to help you breakthrough any beliefs, patterns, or habits that are keeping your from the thriving, abundant, flourishing life God has made you for?

When I launched my personal coaching business, I wanted to stay rooted in the belief and understanding that God is our source of life, vitality, and purpose. I can help, shepherd, encourage, and coach people, but I do not have the power to make anyone flourish, only God can do that. I want my clients to think of God and His Word more than they do me, so therefore, 1778 emerged as the name of my coaching business rather than my own name. I’m not trying to create a brand, I’m trying to point people to the Lord.
